Overcoming A "No Serial Ports Detected" Problem

Post by Softball » March 19th, 2018, 1:11 pm

I have successfully completed the "My First FPGA Project" tutorial up to the point where I reach "Load Your Project". Within the Mojo IDE, I then went to the "Settings" tab and pressed "Serial Port" and I then encountered a "No Serial Ports Detected" message. I am assuming that this issue is related to the drivers. When I plug my Mojo V3 into my laptop, my Device Manager does not "see" this device connected to any port.

When I installed the Mojo IDE, I only downloaded the "Windows Installer (exe)", as well as the ISE WebPack from Xilinx. I did not download the "Windows Files" part because I was not sure if I was supposed to also download this part.

Can someone tell me how to overcome the "No Serial Ports Detected" problem?

Thank you,

Hey David,

It's likely a bad USB cable. Can you try another one? Many cheaper USB cables don't have the data pins populated and are for "charging only".
